Permaculture is an ecological design system for sustainability in all aspects of our lives. It teaches us how build homes, grow our own food, restore damaged landscapes and ecosystems, catch rainwater, build sustainable communities and more.
It is the view point and mindset of listening and seeing what is around you in your environment and using all the resources in a manner that builds the local environments strength and ability to heal all of those in a relationship with it.
Permaculture was a radical approach to how people live. Started in Australia in the early 1970’s the movement spread and grew. It is mostly focused on sustainable living as well as restoring the environment that we as humans have systematically been destroying. The Native Americans for the most part have live a life that was in harmony with nature. Not hoarding or storing up goods just because they could.
Sustainability is the corner stone of permaculture.
